The employer mandate in Obamacare and penalties associated therewith, will destroy thousands of owners like me. With 200 low wage service workers I have calculated the penalties in Obamacare will bankrupt me. The penalties will exceed my profit.  I make less than $2000 per year per employee. The penalties are confiscatory. It is a redistribution of wealth plan , not a healthcare plan. Help!!!

• Uncertainty continues to be the biggest challenge for small business;
• Small businesses recognize the importance of politics in policies that impact their business;
• The small business outlook for local companies and the local economy is improving.

I am a small business owner in Bend, Oregon.  I advocate the need for a HARP Program for Small Business, similar to the homeowners plan announced yesterday by President Obama.

Many American small businesses are unable to access the credit markets.  This is because loan-to-value (LTV) ratios based on current marked-to-market calculations are too high for banks to adjust loans to prevailing interest rates. 

My business is currently locked into a 6.15% loan originated before the Great Recession. Because of the Recession, we have had to lower our prices by approximately 25%.  Currently all of our revenue after expenses is going to the bank.  We have made every monthly loan payment for the last six years.  But our lower prices effect the business’s LTV ratio and so we are unable to refinance at current market interest rates.  It feels as if we are locked into a kind of financial feudalism by the banks.  We need some relief.  

When the larger financial system is unable to provide the stability needed for the entrepreneur or home-owner to make bets on the future, there have to be means for debt obligations to be reset.  That’s only fair.  That’s how we helped the largest banks and corporations in 2008-09. Otherwise we risk the end to America’s history of entrepreneurial activity and will become a nation where only the largest economic interests survive.

 A program similar to HARP for Small Business is needed.

My bank says because my personal credit is not great and the industry I am in they denied me. After 25 years of on time payment of past loans with this bank and my state calls me a micro business. I have heard only vague and confusing descriptions of the recently passed small business bill.  Where can I find details about the contents?  In particular, the tax break on health insurance is very unclear.  When does it take effect, and exactly how does it work?  The Chamber would be doing a great service if it posted the details.

Hello I am trying to start a publishing company.  I originally started writing for Victims of Domestic Violence and Crime.  Standing as a survivor allows me to have first hand experience.  What I have run into that there are three companies that want to publish my books but they want too much money for all the work that I have put in and since I lived this out myself; I feel that publishing my books which is close to twenty books that I have done.  Ready to help victims of Domestic Violence and Crime Victims. '  There are also spiritual books, poetry and even written a play; I became a Freelance Writer recently.

I have a current business, it's a credit repair business, it's solely under me, but I'm currently taking a course on selling home and auto insurance that I want to include onto my current business, I was thinking about converting this business to  a LLC but I'm not sure.. I'm trying not to go with incorporation the business, because it's subject to double taxation as a corp. what is your suggestion.. how should I set up this business knowing I have two separate business ideas that I want to consolidate under one company.

I am starting a travel nurse staffing company that will be placing traveling nurses and other healthcare professionals that will work in several different states and in some foreign countries.  The healthcare professional with be an employee of my company who will be contracted by the medical facility.  To protect my assets and also the income generated, I plan on creating a holding company that will own the staffing company.  I plan on incorporating in DE although I am a resident of California.  What would be the best state for incorporating the two entities: the holding company and the staffing company?   Also, would I have to qualify as a foreign corporation in every state that I place someone on assignment?
