I am a close friend of Peter Lowitt, and am submitting this short write-up of the company he started -- Lowitt Alarms & Security Systems. This is the major alarm company on Long Island, servicing thousands of homes, restaurants, and corporations on Long Island and nationwide -- and it was started from scratch by Peter Lowitt only a few decades ago.
Mr.Lowitt is a family-man, and an engineer by profession, with the foresight and courage to leave a lucrative job at Sperry Rand, and develop this new business. It proved to be super-successful, because the superior service his company provides cannot be matched by large or small competitors. Every client and employee is treated like family; and the services provided are on the cutting edge of advanced technology. Innovative and reliable.
His company grew from the installation and monitoring of his own alarm systems to monitoring the systems installed by other alarm companies; and he eventually took them under his wing by buying the best of them. From a small one-man, and then two-man operation, his company grew into being a major corporation with a full staff staff of specialists. No one leaves his employ. He provides decent salaries and all kinds of benefits. I am told by service technicians and other personnel that he is a joy to work for. He is super-successful, and has earned every penny. This is the story of the American Dream, come true.
